Issue
- You have used the ESET Start Menu uninstaller and continue to have problems uninstalling or reinstalling your ESET product
- Your ESET product remains active after uninstallation
- Uninstallation fails
- The ESET Uninstaller tool should not be used on Microsoft Azure/Amazon VMs because the tool must be run on the machine when in safe mode. Microsoft Azure/Amazon VMs do not have RDP connectivity when in safe mode therefore they lock up when restarting in safe mode.

You are not required to purchase an additional license to reinstall your ESET product. Your existing license remains functional for the duration of your subscription regardless of how many times you remove or install the product on the computer to which it is registered.

Export your settings
Before using the Uninstaller tool, export all ESET product settings. Your settings will not be restored automatically when you reinstall ESET.
Back up network adapter settings
After using the ESET Uninstaller Tool, you may be required to reinstall your network adapter drivers. Follow the steps below to back up your network adapter settings and restore them after uninstallation is finished:
- Before running the Uninstaller Tool: Open an administrative command prompt and enter the following command to back up your network adapter settings:
netsh -c interface dump > C:NetworkSettings.txt
- After uninstallation is complete: Reinstall your network adapter drivers if necessary and then open an administrative command prompt and enter the following command to restore your network adapter settings:
netsh -f C:NetworkSettings.txt
- Download the ESET Uninstaller and save it to your Desktop.
- Restart your computer in Safe Mode.
- In Safe Mode, double-click the installer file you saved to your Desktop in step 1 to run ESET Uninstaller tool. If you want to use the Advanced user commands below, open an Administrative command prompt first and then change to the Desktop directory.

Skip this step if Epfw filter has already been uninstalled and is not visible in the Ethernet Properties window.
- Press the Windows key + r to open a Run dialog, type ncpa.cpl into the blank field and then click OK.
- Right-click your network adapter (select Wireless network connection) and select Properties from the drop-down menu.
- Select Epfw NDIS LightWeight Filter and click Uninstall. Click Yes at the prompt; uninstallation may take several minutes.

˄˅Once you launch the offline installation (.exe), the Installation Wizard will guide you through the setup process.
1.Select your desired language from the drop-down menu and click Continue. Allow a few moments for installation files to download.
2.Read and accept the End-User License Agreement.
3.The next step is to choose an activation option. If you are installing a more recent version over the previous one, your license key will be entered automatically.
4.Select your preference for ESET LiveGrid® feedback system and Detection of potentially unwanted applications. Grayware or Potentially Unwanted Application (PUA) is a broad category of software, whose intent is not as unequivocally malicious as with other types of malware, such as viruses or trojan horses. See the Potentially unwanted applications chapter for more details.
5.Select your preference for participation in Customer Experience Improvement Program. By joining the Customer Experience Improvement Program you provide ESET with anonymous information relating to the use of our products. The collected data will help us to improve the experience for you and will never be shared with third parties. What information do we collect?
6.Click Install to start the installation process. It may take a few moments.
