Step 3: Download FMCB and install the contents into the root of your USB. Step 4: Put in your HDD, USB, Memory Card and your copy of HDL or HDA and start up the PS2. Step 5: Once HDL or HDA has fully loaded up, start ulanuch from the Games list (Note: You may need to switch to Mode 3 if you happen to get a blackscreen.).
Converting with Free McBoot (Images will be added later) First, a list of the things you will need: PS2 Memory card preloaded with Free McBoot. USB stick (must be FAT32 format, NTSC will not work, nor will FAT, has to be FAT32) PS2 Memory Card Adapter. PS2 (no special mods, other than the memory card) PS1 Memory Card with enough blocks free. FreeMcBoot is installed onto a standard PS2 memory card. When this memory card is plugged into your PS2, then your PS2 boots into the FMCB homescreen, and is functionally 'modded.' As soon as you remove this memory card, and reboot your PS2, it is 100% completely reverted back to stock. I got a FMCB on eBay for $10 and it looks like a brand new japan region silver mem card. The FMCB files are working fine but I’m waiting on my HDD stuff before I put it to use. I ordered the all region FMCB version for my scph39000 and it came with all the needed apps installed.
